The Modern Calligraphy Summit is an online conference for all calligraphy enthusiasts, and is happening this February 20 - March 8, 2017. Registrants will get a chance to attend 7 online sessions from 7 calligraphers / letterers / illustrators, plus some awesome bonus content! At the end of each session, there will be Q&A sessions as well. Best of all, registrants will have lifetime access to all this content.

The 2.0 Summit will include the following sessions:

  • Basics of Copperplate Calligraphy by Logos Calligraphy
  • Basics of Brush Lettering by Pieces Calligraphy
  • Watercolor Illustration and Digitizing by Mon Voir
  • Breaking the rules of calligraphy and developing your own style by Script Merchant
  • Writing on everything but paper by A Fabulous Fete
  • Layouting and Lettering by Poppy and Mint Design
  • Designing Invitations from start to finish by Written Word Calligraphy

I’m very fortunate to be part of this year’s list of calligraphers teaching at this summit, and I’ll be teaching an intermediate class that goes over how I design invitations from start to finish. This is considered an intermediate class because it would require some calligraphy skill developed and also some knowledge of design programs, but it would go over a ton of business information that can help you get started in your own invitation company. I will be discussing our client discussions, the various types of printing and the nitty gritty details, the entire design process and where I get inspiration, how I present this to the client and actually execute it the design from paper to paper.
